Much like Noble Pig herself, I would not normally dress a steak up with too much other than salt and pepper. But dang if this Rib-Eye with red Wine Vinaigrette does not have me craving gussied up steak in a big way now.

As a longtime reader of Tigers and Strawberries, I will tell you now you could click on almost any of her dishes. But I thought this Thai Pesto with Noodles was absolutely brilliant.

Kristin King, the Norfolk Cooking Examiner for examiner.com, tweaked Jacques Torres’ Mudslide Cookie recipe to come up with an award winning best ever Double Chocolate Chip Cookie (update June 2015: the links to Kristin’s recipe was taken down and I cannot find it). I asked and she confirmed that this cookie can indeed be made sans nuts. Next time I am craving chocolate these babies are getting made!

Pardon the abbreviated list today, but I was gone for much of the last week. No doubt tons of great recipes escaped my notice; hopefully I will find them in the upcoming week. But since I am heading to see U2 in Chicago this weekend (a girl has gotta have her priorities and this even wins over the Michigan-Notre Dame game) I’ll probably be a little short next week as well. C’est la vie. But say a Go Blue for me, won’t you?

That doesn’t mean every dish on here is strictly authentic, but it does mean that even my adaptations are not undertaken lightly. My goal is to show you–by doing–that these dishes are possible in your kitchen. Including desserts because I have quite the sweet tooth! Read More…
