I am a huge crisp fan. For whatever reason I usually make them with blueberries. However, the minute I saw this Apple Crisp over at Simply Recipes I knew I’d be making it soon. If food porn is the ability of a picture to make your mouth water and your taste buds absolutely crave what you are looking at, well, then that is serious food porn.

When these Cookies and Cream Cheesecake Bars cycled onto my Facebook wall, I nearly drooled. Recipe Girl never disappoints, and these are headed straight to the to try pile.

If you’ve been reading my blog, by now you certainly know of Rancho Gordo. What you might not have known is that Steve Sando, the owner of Rancho Gordo, has a blog (also called Rancho Gordo) with fabulous recipes as well. His Borrachos (Drunken Beans), look both simple and fantastic. I love beans cooked in beer.

If you love onions like I love onions, this Balsamic Onion Marmalade from One Perfect Bite will be at the top of your to try list also. I am thinking I might buy a serious supply of local onions soon and make this in bulk and freeze it for the winter. And tell myself for the umpteenth time that I *will* learn to can next summer.

Stay tuned for U2 pics… I know you are all dying to hear about it–and even if not I am dying to tell you!

I SO want to learn how to can. Right now it kind of scares me. Really just the sterilizing and storing part scares me. I need a primer of some kind.

That balsamic marmalade sounds great, as do the other goodies you mention here. But the best will be your U2 stories!

Hi! I’m Laura and I am a recovering history major who has re-channeled all of my passion for learning about the history of different countries to learning about their food culture. That doesn’t mean every dish on here is strictly authentic, but it does mean that even my adaptations are not undertaken lightly. My goal is to show you–by doing–that these dishes are possible in your kitchen. Including desserts because I have quite the sweet tooth! Read More…
