Before I get to the “to tries,” A Healthy Gardener has passed on the Best Blog award to me. So sweet! I am ‘sposed to pass it on to 15 blogs–but instead I suggest you just check my sidebar. If I have you on my sidebar, consider it passed on. And if a blog is on my sidebar, I strongly suggest you check it out!

I love icebox cakes. I have only made a few, which is just silly given how delicious and easy they are–or on second thought, maybe I should be commended for my willpower, given that they do not travel very easily. Anyway, this Ginger-Mascarpone Icebox Cake by Dozen Flours is next on my list. Just look at it.

I am all about texture. Some inexplicably turn me off–like pudding–while others I will devour–like mousse. I know, they’re kinda similar. Because of my love for mousse, I also love semifreddos (can you pluralize that?). In the past I have only seen chocolate semifreddo, until I saw this Pumpkin Semifreddo with a crumble topping at Tartlette. Sold!

Check out these Andouille & Sweet Potato Kebabs over at Big Red Kitchen. Yum, talk about some of my favorite flavors, all on the same stick!

If we're going for the authentic italian, the plural would be semifreddi.

Congrats on the award! Great picks for To Try Tuesday.

Hi! I’m Laura and I am a recovering history major who has re-channeled all of my passion for learning about the history of different countries to learning about their food culture. That doesn’t mean every dish on here is strictly authentic, but it does mean that even my adaptations are not undertaken lightly. My goal is to show you–by doing–that these dishes are possible in your kitchen. Including desserts because I have quite the sweet tooth! Read More…
