OK and we still do not know what was wrong with it–apparently it checked out fine. We are going to try to install Windows again. But big thanks to Chrissy and especially Jason (since he did the work 😉 ) for looking at it.

I will be back with a recipe tomorrow–cookies–but since it is dark here I have not photographed them yet. In the meantime though I do have a (long awaited? for some of you?) update on the house.

I don’t have a lot of photos because without any interior lighting the pictures are not of the best quality. And right now most of the interesting stuff is going on inside the house. The dry wall is up, all of the tile has been laid, but only the upstairs bathrooms have grout yet. Many of the interior doors have been installed–the exterior doors are still just stand-ins. The walls need one more coat of paint, after the trim has been done, but color is fairly accurate now, according to the builder. I LOVE the way it looks with the tile, but I really only got one photo to demonstrate it very well. I saw some cabinetry boxes waiting in the garage, I know the appliances are all in at the store, and I think the rest of the cabinetry should be in by this coming week (EEEK!).

As you can see from the photo, most of the siding has gone up. At the very end we will decide on some decorative trims for a few of the windows–or decide it looks fine as is.

Hi! I’m Laura and I am a recovering history major who has re-channeled all of my passion for learning about the history of different countries to learning about their food culture. That doesn’t mean every dish on here is strictly authentic, but it does mean that even my adaptations are not undertaken lightly. My goal is to show you–by doing–that these dishes are possible in your kitchen. Including desserts because I have quite the sweet tooth! Read More…
