I don’t normally post round ups of previous recipes, but noticing all of the Cinco de Mayo recipes popping up everywhere around the web, it just seemed so silly that once again I had not gotten my act together in time. Especially when my site specializes in international recipes and double especially when Mexican is one of my favorites. So I started searching back through the years of this blog…

And discovered I *really* like Mexican soups. A taco and casserole here and there, but the vast majority of my Mexican recipes are for soups. And I happen to think Mexican soups are fantastic for a Cinco de Mayo party, because usually they are accompanied by a wide variety of vibrant, tasty garnishes. And what is more fun than assembling your own meal at a party? Here are some of my favorites to choose from, including some of the tacos and casseroles as well.

Hi! I’m Laura and I am a recovering history major who has re-channeled all of my passion for learning about the history of different countries to learning about their food culture. That doesn’t mean every dish on here is strictly authentic, but it does mean that even my adaptations are not undertaken lightly. My goal is to show you–by doing–that these dishes are possible in your kitchen. Including desserts because I have quite the sweet tooth! Read More…
